Launched a B2C eCommerce Business From B2B Baseline

ISSUE:

How to efficiently launch a B2C eCommerce site from an existing B2B site without isolating current customers.

STRATGIES:

  • Branded/designed site to meet user requirements of key consumer personas including development of a younger base

  • Took advantage of existing B2B product digital assets, pricing, inventory timing

  • Partnered with key B2B retail customers for expanded fulfillment opportunities

  • Set up online liquidation channel for corporate product exits

  • Invested in first B2C digital advertising campaign for key brands, holidays to drive traffic and conversions

  • Carefully planned/wrote copy for artist and brand category pages to maximize organic search ranking

  • Developed collectible content hub/retention plan for largest brands (i.e. Jim Shore)

RESULTS:

  • Developed new B2C site branded eGift Studio to emphasize unique strengths of full gift assortment designed by artists

  • Employed technology to allow B2B retailers to bid on order fulfillment before sent to Enesco systems

  • Successfully marketed two liquidation sales for jewelry and Boyd's brand that eliminated 90% of leftover inventory

  • Holiday digital advertising campaign reduced age of site traffic by 10 years, increased awareness of site - Direct traffic moved up to #3 channel, exposed keywords for future testing, increased overall traffic to site by 40%, and broadened traffic sources beyond just corporate site referrals and email.

  • Site brand/artist content put eGift Studio into top 3 rankings for key brands
